| | Helpful? | I recently relocated from Phoenix, AZ to San Diego, CA and at the last minute decided I should pick up a basic GPS so that I could navigate my way around San Diego without too much stress. From top-to-bottom, this product was and is continuing to be a lifesaver. It's very easy to setup and even easier to use. If you don't need all the bells and whistles, but want something that is small/lightweight and very portable (slips into your front pocket with ease) then this device is for you. Inexpensive, accurate, and easy to use. Very High recommendation! | Satisfaction | Score |

| | Helpful? | Good product for the money, the only feature I wish it had is the ability to speak the upcoming road name. But it does tell me I have a turn coming up and the road name is viewable on the screen. Works well and quickly, would definately recommend for an entry level GPS. | Satisfaction | Score |

| | Helpful? | This is a great little GPS. The 3.5" screen is a perfect size and the grapics are very helpful. Well designed. The only drawback for me is that you cannot search for business' by name. It does show nearby gas stations, and many other points of interest. Well worth the money. | Satisfaction | Score |

| | Helpful? | I picked up the Maestro 3200 for $120 including the shipping to my house. The product itself works pretty well and I love how slim and light weight it is. This gps is a little behind where you actually are driving and takes a little longer than my older TomTom to re-calculate routes. That said the price and size greatly outweigh any negatives that I have about the unit. Great GPS for $120! | Satisfaction | Score |

| | Helpful? | I purchased this GPS for my husband last Christmas and we both liked it so much that we kept moving it from car to car. I decided to get one just for me and I found a Tom Tom on sale. Big mistake, I hated it. I could not understand how to work it, it kept falling off my windshield etc. I ended up selling the Tom Tom and getting another Magellan. Lesson learned. Stick with a good thing. | Satisfaction | Score |

| | Helpful? | I bought the Magellan 3200 a couple of months ago and I'm happy to say that I'm very satisfied with its performance. I owned a Garmin c340 prior to buying the Magellan and the Magellan simply outperforms the Garmin in many aspects. PROS: 1) Startup Time - The 3200 starts up in under 10 seconds. The initial satellite lock-on time is under a minute. Most of times, if you're at the same place you turned off the unit, the lock-on time is under 30 seconds. However, if you turned the unit off and took a plane across the country, it takes a bit longer to get the initial lock-on. 2) Signal Strength - I have never lost reception with the 3200. Although to be fair, I've also never driven into a tunnel or deep into an underground parking garage. 3) Recalculation time - I have missed my turns lots of times, either on purpose or by accident. The 3200 can handle most of them pretty well. I've only experienced one time where the unit told me to make a u-turn because it can't figure out any other way to get to my destination. 4) GUI - The UI is very clean. The type to display response time is very good (<1 second). I love the way 3200 takes away the letters as you type and suggests the city/street before you finish typing the whole thing. CONS: 1) Calculated Route - Sometimes you need to double check what it gives you. I would say 95% of the time, the route is probably good enough. It doesn't have traffic capability, so you might use some common sense when it gets to rush hour. However the other 5% of the time, you'll get a route that blows you out of the water. It'll add an extra 100 mile onto your route when you're just driving to the next city for some dinner. I don't know what prompts these errors, but usually you can spot it. 5) "North" & "South" - I don't know if this is Magellan's way of getting you to pay for the more expensive units, but half the time, the unit won't tell you if you're suppose to get onto the freeway in the NORTH or SOUTH direction via text-to-speech. The screen still displays the N/S, but it just won't pronounce it. So whenever you're getting onto the freeway, you have to sneak a peek at the display to figure it out. Overall, I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for an entry level GPS unit with text-to-speech function. It lacks some bells and whistles that the other more expensive units have, but hey, as long as I get to where I need to be, I'm a happy camper. | Satisfaction | Score |

| | Helpful? | This product is so easy to use, my kids program it and help me navigate our road trips. My 11yr old daughter has preprogramed it already for our trip to San Diego in a few weeks. I was really happy to have it recently when i was upstate on a back road and unsure of the local back way to my sons camp, he was able to plug us in and get directions, and it was very accurate. | | Helpful? | I bought this unit a few weeks ago because I was going to a wedding on the other side of the state, and I have no sense of direction.I was concerned that I would get lost in the middle of nowhere. So,never having used a GPS device before,I read reviews and decided on this one. I'm very glad I got it.I got to and from the wedding worry-free. The screen is very bright and colorful, and the"voice" is clear and loud enough to hear with the top down on my Jeep. The set-up took about two minutes. After the co-ordinates were established from my house,I programmed the address of the wedding, and it mapped out the route clearly and easily. I have since used it to see if it ever messes up,but so far it has not. I really like this thing.I love all things electronic, but, living on a retirees budget,I had to get the best I could for the money I could spend. And I did,and I love it!! | Satisfaction | Score |

| | Helpful? | Magellan Maestro 3200 is a great GPS. It worked right out of the box and had less menus to get through to tell it where you want to go. Just need to trust the little system and listen to the directions. Very easy. Also easy to adjust to shortest distance, fastest time, or no highways or no toll boths. really easy to work with and see what is coming up. Would recommend to a beginner for a GPS. Points of Interest were really fun as well! Can search by name or category.. never failed on our trip to NC then on to Myrtle Beach. | Satisfaction | Score |

| Amazon.com customer | 2008-07-16 | | Tinny speaker, annoying lady voice, pixel-y looking map, often confused about where I am | 4 | NR | NR | NR | |
| | Helpful? | I used a Nuvi 260 for a few days before it got some bug in it so when returning it I decied to try the Magellan 3200. Compared to the Garmin I had just returned, I hated this GPS. It has a tinny speaker which sounds cheap and is so high treble that it's hard to understand if your windows are down. The annoying lady voice got to me, she sounds like a 40 year old smoker bar maid. lol The map display is cheap looking, like the type of resolution I saw in old windows video games. The roads aren't drawn smoothly, they look like vector graphics, which are a series of straight lines to make a curve instead of drwing a curve. But the worst part is that it's often confused about where I am or which way I'm facing; if I miss an off ramp, it takes a while for it to notice. And sometimes it thought I was facing the opposite way than I actually was, sometimes it thinks I'm on a different street adn it will go wacky in circles until it figures out where I am. It doesn't have as many points of interest, which are sooo valuable. And its bigger and bulkier than the nuvi. Finally, I really don't like the way that the miles to your next turn is a tiny number at the bottom, I refer to that often. Oh and the cigarette lighter plug has an annoying bright blue light on it that distacts me at night with it's brightness. What I do like is that it tells you what road you are on all the time. And it lets you enter addresses with zip code or city, where as the nuvi doesn't. It does seem to pick good routes to places Bottom line, try a gps before you buy it -- only by using it for one night will you realize you can't stand anything about it and want your old one back! | Satisfaction | Score |

| | Helpful? | Great invention fun and easy to use. The kids enjoy looking at the map and hearing the directions. Makes driving somewhere new less stressful. Word of advice, keep a map on hand. If the areas you are in are newly built (roads, communities, etc.) the GPS will not identify and go blank screen telling you to go back to the last point. The text to speech feature is wonderful. Your eyes stay on the road while your ears hear the clear instructions. Very happy I made the purchase. | Satisfaction | Score |

| | Helpful? | I have had this product for almost a month now and it has been very helpful. I waited a long time before I finally bought a GPS because I've always been good with directions, and it never bothered me to use Mapquest before going on a trip somewhere new. However, since I have made this purchase, I have really valued it. I don't have anything to compare this model to, but I can say that this is ridiculously easy to use; it has given me no issues (like faulty directions, or poor touch screen responsiveness); and accomplishes all that it needs to with some nice features at a low price point. | Satisfaction | Score |
